Buckinghamshire is one of the Home Counties, and one of England’s most affluent. Southern and eastern parts, Amersham, Chesham and High Wycombe, benefit from proximity to London. These have large residential markets and are popular for commuting. Areas around Beaconsfield and along the Thames Valley are high end residential spots. North west Buckinghamshire, beyond the Chiltern Hills and around Aylesbury and Buckingham, is rural, with arable farming and grazing. In the north Milton Keynes is one of the south east’s largest business centres and a hotspot for commercial development and new housebuilding.

Larger sites, particularly in well connected areas in the south and east, may have potential for large scale residential and commercial development.
